General Dentistry

Our aim is to improve the long-term dental wellbeing of our patients and we do this by providing thorough, meticulous and unhurried examinations. The health of your mouth, teeth and gums is vitally important, as the better the condition of your mouth, the better your general health.

Regular visits will help keep the optimum health of mouth. They prevent bad breath and provide life-saving early detection of mouth cancer, which kills one person every five hours in the UK and is diagnosed in more than 6,000 people each year.

During your dental health examinations at Bourne End Dental we carry out mouth cancer screening. Mouth cancer is twice as common in men than women and 86% of cases are diagnosed in those aged over 50. Smokers and drinkers are particularly at risk.

Early detection of mouth cancer results in a survival outcome of 90%. However, delayed diagnosis means survival rates plummet to as little as 50%. Let us give you peace of mind by checking your mouth for the early signs of mouth cancer.

We understand that everyone wants their dentist to give them a clean bill of health and our mission is to achieve just that through a combination of superb dental and hygiene care, expert advice and education.

We recommend that adults make appointments with us every six or twelve months, depending on requirements and advise that children visit every six months to allow us to monitor their development. We also offer brushing and dietary advice to encourage our younger patients to learn sound dental health routines they can continue at home.
